We strongly suggest that you aim for a gradual weight loss of 1 or 2 pounds a week. This does make reaching your goal take longer, but if you lose the weight gradually, it is easier to keep it off. Gradual weight loss also requires less drastic changes to your every day diet and activities than rapid weight loss. Gradual weight loss is also safer for most people.
