Natural Weight Loss Portion Size Guide
Here at Simple Natural Weight Loss portion size is often talked mentioned, as well as what an appropriate portion size is. In fact, a recent post was about how to visualize Portion Sizes. The information in that article is helpful, but I have found another tool that might help even more, because it is visual. You can download it here: Portion Guide.
The Portion Size Guide is from WebMD, and it is free; there is also a link on the page to download a wallet size Portion Size Guide, so you can take it with you everywhere. Another link Portion Size Plate will take you to an interactive guide on your computer.
Controlling how many calories you eat is important to natural weight loss. Having a good reference point to judge if you are eating a serving, or several, is an important tool. Like anything else, if you don’t use it , it won’t help you lose weight. The interactive Portion Size Plate also will help you eat a balanced diet, as it visually shows you what a balanced meal looks like on a plate. You can see serving sizes for most foods that you should include in your daily diet.
Please remember that many restaurants serve more than a single portion with their dinners, but you don’t have to eat everything on your plate. Ask for a doggy bag, or bring your own containers, and take the extra home with you. It will give you another meal, or two, with little effort on your part. (If you can’t stop yourself from cleaning your plate, remove the extra portions before you begin eating.)
Use these guides, or the visual cues from my previous post, to learn about individual portion sizes and use them when ever you eat. Proper portion sizes will help you achieve your natural weight loss goals.
