My next simple natural weight loss tip is: Buddy up.

Find a friend or family member who also wants to lose weight, or more than one, if you can.

You can become each others support group, and it will help each of you to make a public commitment to lose weight. This will give you the added motivation of peer pressure, only moving you towards healthy eating habits, rather than bad habits.

Likewise, be careful of who you choose to spend time with. If your usual idea of a night out with friends is to go to a bar and overeat, while washing the food down with gallons of beer, you will undo an entire week of eating well in a single evening.

This doesn’t mean you need to lose all your friends, but that you need to spend time with people who support your weight loss efforts. If your current friends are onboard, by all means spend time with them, but if all they do is encourage you to forget your weight loss efforts, you need to avoid them, at least until you feel you have strongly established the habit of making healthier choices when it comes to eating and drinking.

That’s why creating your own support group is a good one; you can become each other’s little voice that says “Do you really want to eat that?”

Having a weight loss buddy, or several, can also make losing weight fun. You can try out recipes on each other, and share any weight loss tips that you find. You can also challenge each other to do better, week by week, and inspire each other if your resolve begins to fade.
