Planning can make losing weight much easier. Plan your meals for the week, plan your shopping trips, even plan your snacks.The more you plan, the more you make things easy on yourself.
If you go to the grocery store, and buy whatever strikes your fancy, it becomes much harder to stick to your diet. You have to think about what you have bought, and how to make tasty and low-calorie meals from your purchases. If you have shopped well, it will still be possible, but if you made some poor choices when you were shopping, it becomes hard, if not impossible, to eat sensibly.
Losing weight becomes easier if you plan out your meals in advance, and shop accordingly. It also makes sense to plan in a little indulgence into your weekly diet. (I don’t mean you should plan exactly when you are going to indulge yourself, but to buy something that will feel like a special treat for yourself, to eat whenever you need a little psychological boost. As long as you purchase the smallest possible portion, such as a single serve ice cream, if that is what you crave, you won’t destroy your diet.) Giving yourself permission to have occasional special treats will make it easier to stick to your weight loss resolutions.
Shop from a list whenever you go grocery shopping, and make sure that what you put on the list matches your plan for the week.
